Ulysse Nardin and the Magnificent Seven

A pioneer in the creation of marine chronometers since 1846, the year of its founding, Ulysse Nardin presents a new collection composed of seven unprecedented Marine Torpilleur timepieces as a tribute to its 175 years of history and savoir-faire. Among the stars of the Geneva Watch Days, they are all produced in limited editions and bear the signature "Chronometry since 1846" at 6 o'clock on the small seconds counter and a minute indicator made more essential than the main collection, first launched in 2017. Each model, equipped with a silicon escapement, has a distinctive appearance and its own design, bearing the heritage and codes of the brand's history, such as the fluted bezel, Roman numerals and double counter.
With the first of seven watches, the Marine Torpilleur Enamelled Blue in a limited edition of 175, Ulysse Nardin is celebrating the art of Grand Feu enamelling thanks to its partnership with Donzé Cadrans, an independent enamelling workshop based in Le Locle and acquired by the manufacture in 2011. There are 300 pieces available for the Marine Torpilleur Panda, so called because of the two small dark blue sub-dials that stand out against the white dial (one for the power reserve indicator and the other housing the seconds hand and date). It is followed by the Marine Torpilleur Lunar Phases, which brings into play one of the complications produced by the Maison since the end of the 19th century and is in a limited edition of 300 pieces for each of the two versions on offer, with a blue or white PVD enamel dial. The same number of pieces and the same type of dial for the Marine Torpilleur Annual Chronograph, with the manufacture UN-153 movement, an evolution of the previous UN-150 movement. The last model in the collection is the Marine Torpilleur Tourbillon Grand Feu, in a limited edition of 175 pieces, with a Grand Feu black enamel dial created by Donzé Cadrans, on which the power reserve at 12 o'clock stands out, and with a pink gold case, unlike the other six watches, all in steel. Another feature of this model is the presence of the Constant Escapement patented by Ulysse Nardin. All models come complete with an alligator leather strap and are compatible with the R-strap, made from recycled fishing nets.
