The new Excalibur Spider Pirelli is the first timepiece signed Roger Dubuis that is completely versatile and made with rubber from race-winning tyres. This watch is a demonstration of what can happen when the excellence of different industries come together to share know-how, cutting-edge research and great creativity. Inspired by the pit stops that characterise motor racing, the new Excalibur Spider Pirelli is equipped with several interchangeable elements - strap, crown and bezel - at the click of a button. It is a world first which, in addition to being highly customisable, also offers innovative locking and release technology. The Quick Release System for the strap and crown, in fact, created with special attention to the feel and sound produced by its mechanism, has also been further perfected for the bezel, which, aligned in a precise position, is secured with a simple gesture. The watch employs the calibre RD820SQ (37.1 mm diameter, 6.3 mm thick, 166 components, 35 jewels, 28,800 vib/h, 60-hour power reserve, skeleton micro-rotor, main plate decorated with perlage technique and bridges with NAC coating, aligned anchor bridge with rhodium plating), the first skeletonised automatic movement in the history of Roger Dubuis and winner of the Poinçon de Genève. Changing the strap is simple, fast and straightforward, thanks to the teamwork behind it, which is reminiscent of tyre changes in motor racing. Thanks to three add-on kits in red, white or blue - Pirelli's distinctive colours - the Excalibur Spider Pirelli is transformed from monochrome black into an explosion of colour with a single click. The watch is available in a limited edition of 88 kits in each colour, each made from race-winning tyres. The design of the inside of the strap sports the familiar Pirelli Cinturato Intermediate pattern and the additional colour kits are thicker than the base bezel to reflect the typical look and feel of Pirelli tyres. The 45 mm case is made of black DLC ti6tanium (as is the interchangeable bezel), the crystal protecting the dial is sapphire and the caseback has a sapphire window with a metallic Pirelli logo. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres.
