The Quantième Perpétuel by F.P. Journe with instantaneous release is equipped with an ingenious system designed to accumulate energy and release it instantaneously when the date, day and month - indicated through the two large windows on the dial - pass by, but also to slow it down at the end of its course. All adjustments are made via the crown in 3 positions, except for the quick correction of the months, which is carried out by a protected and concealed correcting lever at 1 o'clock that facilitates adjustment over 4 years, without a specific instrument. The passage of the months of 28, 29, 30 and 31 days takes place automatically with the recognition of the leap year, indicated in the centre of the dial below the hour and minute hands; years 1, 2 and 3 are displayed in black, while the leap year is indicated with a red L (leap year). The watch is equipped with an 18-carat red gold self-winding mechanical movement based on the Octa 1300.3 calibre with sufficient power reserve to guarantee chronometric accuracy for more than 5 days or 120 hours (actual power reserve of 160 ± 10 hours). It is wound unidirectionally by the off-centre F.P. Journe rotor in 22-carat red gold thanks to a system of self-locking ball bearings; the slightest movement of the wrist is thus exploited to the full for optimal winding of the watch. It is equipped with a balance with variable inertia. The Boutique version of the Quantième Perpétuel is available in platinum or red gold with a diameter of 40 or 42 mm and a blue guilloché silver dial with 18-carat white gold numerals. On sale exclusively in F.P. Journe Boutiques and Espaces.
