Sharing has been the driving force behind the initiatives I have promoted since the very beginning of my time at the helm of L'Orologio. I had the ball to create a club of readers and enthusiasts from before. The ideas were there, the tools less so. The advent of Facebook made everything more immediate and usable, and more easily understood by everyone. The ease of moving around Europe, including Switzerland (which is a member of the Schengen treaty), the multiplication of flight availability and connections, then did the rest. This is how L'Orologio Club became a beautiful reality.
It is useless to bore you with the 'how much we miss it', because the situation is the one we all know and it afflicts everyone, even severely. Even in this area, technology comes to our aid and in an era of digitisation of all meeting occasions, the Club has also found a way to involve its members virtually, thanks to the spirit of initiative and desire to share of Roger Dubuis, who has created an online event expressly for the exclusive circle of passionate readers of L'Orologio.
During Watches & Wonders 2021, therefore, CEO Nicola Andreatta reserved two moments to meet with members of L'Orologio Club, to present a preview of RD's new products and to chat freely about haute horlogerie and its values. An experience that is always worth the 'expense'.
And which for the past couple of weeks I have been sharing (this verb again) with other enthusiasts registered on the new Club House social network. Unfortunately only available for the iPhone at the moment, Club House is a sort of 'cultural club' in the broadest sense of the term, the modern version of a cineforum or book club, for those of us who remember them, where you can get together to talk (without looking at each other on webcam) about any subject.
Therefore, I invite you to follow the 'Watches' club on Club House, where every Tuesday at 6.45 pm we meet for an aperitif to talk about watchmaking and share our personal vision - filtered by passion - of this world.
