By the end of 2021, Blockchain technology, based on a database of encrypted information capable of creating a digital certificate of authenticity impossible to counterfeit, will be extended to all Vacheron Constantin watches. Initially reserved for the Les Collectionneurs collection of vintage models, which are restored and sold to a public of connoisseurs at dedicated events, it will henceforth affect every timepiece produced by the Geneva-based brand, accompanying it throughout its life, even if it changes owner. This special digital passport is developed by Arianee, an independent consortium founded in 2017 whose aim is to create a global standard for the digital certification of luxury products. "Digital identities will transform the way valuable goods are owned, allowing customers to follow the product's lifecycle, share or prove ownership and benefit from the services associated with each timepiece," said Louis Ferla, CEO of Vacheron Constantin. In addition to proof of ownership, our customers will be able to take advantage of Blockchain's ability to store all information about the watch, including technical data, user manuals, certifications and product history. Our customers will have a host of services at their disposal, such as the ability to resell them on Watchfinder and online repair requests." Vacheron Constantin customers will also be able to register and authenticate their watches at any time on the new platform The Hour Club reserved for them, where content specially developed for all connoisseurs and owners of Vacheron Constantin timepieces, including invitations to events organised by the Maison, will also be uploaded.
