Grand Seiko is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a special reinterpretation of its first watch, made in 1960 and featuring a 14-carat gold case and a slim movement whose precision met the highest international standards of the time. There are three current versions, one in 950 platinum, one in 18-carat gold and the latest in Brilliant Hard Titanium, a scratch-resistant material that is as light as titanium but brighter in colour to allow the Zaratsu-polished surfaces to stand out even more. The new models feature the same slim profile as the 1960 watch and the highest precision performance, guaranteed by the use of the manual 9S64 calibre. The shape of the case, the dial and the newly curved hands are absolutely faithful to the original, while the case back is made of sapphire so that the movement can be admired. In keeping with modern aesthetics, the case diameter has been enlarged from 35 to 38 mm (the thickness is 10.9 mm) and the buckle is now a folding type for ease of wearing. The three watches in this series will be available exclusively at Grand Seiko Boutiques.
