Jaquet Droz's Grande Seconde Off-Centred chronograph, created in 2019, is equipped for the first time with an onyx dial. The unprecedented depth provided by this precious mineral sets off the circular satin finish of the thin grey gold appliqué of the hour dial, off-centred at 1 o'clock, and its mirror-polished hands. The large seconds at the centre, and not at 6 o'clock as is customary, are equipped with a hand with an openwork counterpoise, while the date has a hand with a solid counterpoise. At 7 o'clock, on the other hand, there is a 30-minute chrono counter and an off-centre retrograde date display. The driving force behind this creation is the Jaquet Droz 26M5R calibre, a single-pusher automatic chronograph with column wheel, silicon escapement, which guarantees greater precision and makes the movement insensitive to magnetic fields and temperature changes, and red gold openworked oscillating weight with a Côtes de Genève motif applied to each bridge. The movement, housed inside a steel case with a diameter of 43 millimetres, is visible through the sapphire glass on the case back.
