Seiko introduces a new timepiece to the Prospex line, a modern reinterpretation of the iconic 1970 dive watch. Slightly more streamlined than the original, but true to its design, it mounts the calibre 6R35, which is self-winding with a manual winding option and a 70-hour power reserve. The 42.7 mm stainless steel case has a scratch-resistant coating and a curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface and is water-resistant to 20 atmospheres. The typical crown is positioned at 4 o'clock and the unidirectional rotating bezel is made of black ceramic. On the dial, also black in colour, the hour, minute and seconds functions stand out (with Lumibrite-coated hands), as well as the date positioned at 3 o'clock with a magnifying glass to ensure maximum legibility. The steel bracelet has a safety folding clasp, release button and wetsuit extension option. This Prospex watch is also offered in a version with an olive green dial and ceramic bezel in the same shade, combined with a black silicone strap. Both models will be available from July 2020 at Seiko boutiques and major retailers.
