Grand Seiko opens in Paris

On 5 June, Grand Seiko opened its first European boutique, and the largest in the world, on the Place Vendôme in Paris. Located on the west side of the square in a listed building, it covers an area of over 190 square metres on two floors. The ground floor will display the brand's exclusive and iconic watches, while the first floor will feature a sales area with a view of the Place Vendôme. Alongside the existing Grand Seiko collection, the shop will present several watches specially created for the brand's 60th anniversary, which falls this year, as well as two timepieces reserved for the new Parisian showcase: part of the Elegance collection, they are available with a 39 mm case in 950 platinum or 18-carat rose gold and are fitted with the mechanical calibre 9S63, a fine hand-wound movement with a total power reserve of 72 hours. The words 'Edition Limitée Place Vendôme' are engraved on the case back. The dial features a pavé motif - in homage to Paris - and 18-carat gold hour markers. The seconds hand at 9 o'clock is blue-green, as is the colour of the additional crocodile strap, which complements the original brown or black crocodile strap. Each of these watches is a limited edition of only 10 pieces. Exclusively, the boutique will display a number of Credor watches and a few examples sold exclusively at Wako, the Group's luxury store.
