The Lily and the Flower of Life, floral motifs dear to the naturalistic imagination of Jaquet Droz, are the protagonists of the brand's two new creations: the Grande Seconde Paillonnée "Fleur de Lys" and the Petite Heure Minute Paillonnée "Fleur de Vie". These two red gold models take shape through the art of paillons, an ancestral decorative technique based on the same principle as Grand Feu enamel dials. It first consists of a guillochage on the base of a gold dial, which is then coated with a coloured but translucent enamel so that the guilloché motifs remain visible. Several layers of enamel are then fired one by one in the oven before reaching the stage where delicate motifs cut out in thin gold leaves, the paillons sheets, are arranged by hand one by one to form the desired figure. Once the decoration has been created, these foils are in turn coated with a new layer of enamel, also baked and translucent, which will protect the paillons motif for centuries, fixing it almost for eternity. The mechanics are entrusted to the Jaquet Droz 2663.P movement, for the Grande Seconde Paillonnée "Fleur de Lys", and the Jaquet Droz 2653.P movement, for the Petite Heure Minute Paillonnée "Fleur de Vie", both self-winding, with silicon balance spring and anchor lugs, double barrel, and 18-carat red gold oscillating weight. The two new models are limited to just eight pieces each.
