The Garmin Marq series of tool watches is enriched with a new model dedicated to all fans of the sea, particularly sailing, and match racing for the America's Cup. It is called Marq Captain: American Magic Edition and is developed in collaboration with the stars and stripes American Magic team, in preparation for the 36th edition of the famous international competition. It features a grade 2 titanium case with a satin finish and a 46-millimetre case with high-strength micrometric torx screws. 1.3'' display beneath a domed sapphire crystal lens. 240×240 pixel resolution and anti-reflective technology that allows it to be viewed in all light conditions, even in sunlight. Added to this are satin-finished titanium barrel buttons with non-return valves to prevent air bubbles from entering. Wearability is ensured by the soft silicone strap in contrasting colours: Blue Navy for the strap and red for the loop, the official colours of the American Magic team whose name is engraved on the bezel designed in titanium and coated in mirrored Blue Navy ceramic with a red race accent, defining the construction parameters of the AC75. Additional strap with inverted colours can be replaced quickly and easily with the patented Quick Fit attachment technology. For the first time ever, a tool watch in the Marq series has two dials, obviously dedicated to sailing and personalised by American Magic: the first, in analogue style, features the "T-Minus", the countdown to the start of the final challenge in Auckland in 2021; the second, in a digital version, presents the profile of the Defiant, the AC75 class monohull boat that the American Magic team will use to challenge the other crews during the next America's Cup. The watch provides a complete navigational experience thanks to its compatibility with BlueChart g3 detailed nautical maps, the accuracy provided by the Gps/Glonass/Galileo multi-satellite receiver, and connected functions for weather forecasts including storm warnings, nearest port conditions and more. It can communicate wirelessly with Garmin's on-board instrumentation network. You can also work on your fitness with three different training plans specially created by the instructors and athletic trainers of the American team: you can choose between the options Race Simulation, Fitness Test and Repetitions, select from different exercises, the same ones used by the athletes, and prepare for the next boat trips. There is no shortage of specific apps dedicated to the world of sailing, such as the Grind onshore and offshore apps that allow sailors to train and monitor the number of grinder revolutions both on the boat and during training in the gym. The new Marq obviously provides functions for monitoring well-being, such as tracking daily activities (number of steps taken during the day, total distance covered, stairs climbed and much more), heart rate measurement directly on the wrist and the Pulse Ox pulse oximeter, an LED sensor that can provide an indication of the level of oxygen saturation in the blood. With this watch, you can make contactless payments via Garmin Pay and manage smart notifications directly on your wrist by pairing it with compatible smartphones. You also have the option of listening to music freely via Bluetooth, uploading up to 2,000 songs to the internal memory or using music streaming apps such as Spotify and Deezer. It is equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium battery that offers up to 12 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, 28 hours in Gps mode, up to 9 hours with Gps and Music on, and 48 hours in UltraTrac mode. It will be available from the end of May from Marq Garmin dealers at a price of 1,750 euros.
