Oris thanks the Local Heroes of the World

Oris invites the online community to nominate women and men who are fighting Covid-19 on the front line and pledges to donate 50 watches to them. These times are indeed challenging, yet a crisis can show the best side of people. Oris, for example, has been greatly inspired to see how people are taking an interest in others. Last week, the House started posting its Oris Bear in Instagram stories. The Oris Bear is a symbol of warmth, joy and hope. The idea was to unite and make people smile. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted our Local Heroes as never before: doctors, nurses, carers, teachers, drivers, shop assistants, cashiers, commodity producers, mothers, fathers... So many people are making great efforts, sometimes even risking their own lives, to care for the sick. The Maison wanted to thank all these people in some way, and therefore invited the Oris community to nominate their Local Heroes. They asked people to post a photo of their hero with their story, tagging #InThisTogether, @Orisbear and @Oris. Initially, the House wanted to donate 10 watches, but in just 48 hours, more than 400 applications came in from all over the world. The Hölstein-based company was deeply touched by the amazing example of these courageous individuals and has therefore decided to continue with this initiative every week, as the battle continues, to donate a total of 50 Oris watches. It is a small gesture, but the hope is that it will help in these difficult times and bring joy and give people a smile.
