Roger Dubuis - Excalibur Twofold

Since 1995, Roger Dubuis' production has been characterised by a propensity for innovation marked by technical prowess, uncompromising know-how and stylistic audacity. Its integrated Manufacture guarantees absolute professionalism and complete independence. The Maison's designers and watchmakers, in constant dialogue with each other, create grand complications with non-conformist aesthetics, giving free rein to their creativity, exploring and innovating without setting boundaries. Roger Dubuis thus aims to constantly break free from codes and conventions to create original creations in the competitive field of Haute Horlogerie. The excellence that distinguishes the House's creations is also expressed through the certification of the majority of its timepieces with the Poinçon de Genève, a guarantee of the value of each watch component; suffice it to say that to obtain it, the Manufacture invests 40% of additional time in production. Characterised by unbridled creativity, all Roger Dubuis' creations are as technical as they are imaginative. For the House, technique is at the service of beauty, so the use of futuristic materials from other industries - such as additive manufacturing and composite materials - amplifies the stylistic irreverence of its timepieces. All in all, then, it is safe to say that no excess is beyond the reach of Roger Dubuis, who is proud of his choice of rupture, with which he distances himself from trends and mass consensus. The Maison dedicates its creations to those who wish to enjoy life, to the incurable hedonists. With this in mind, Roger Dubuis presents a new interpretation of its iconic movement, the flying double tourbillon. The Excalibur Twofold is the perfect embodiment of the brand's expressive singularity and know-how, even more extreme when observed in the dark. This new watchmaking creation brings together three world firsts. The bezel and case, 45 mm in diameter, are made of mineral composite fibre, an optical white composite material made of 99.95% silica and specially developed by Roger Dubuis. A technical feat never before attempted in Haute Horlogerie. The manufacturing process used for fibreglass (SMC) and implemented by Roger Dubuis engineers allows the Manufacture to make versatile use of this extraordinary mineral composite fibre. For the first time, a patented process was developed to lighten each corner of the movement's upper plate made of mineral composite fibre. Luminescent at night, the 60% outlasts commonly used luminescent materials. Finally, the strap of the Twofold is made of a special FKM rubber and is also luminescent. It is manufactured using the unprecedented "LumiSuperBiwiNova" technology, which makes only part of the strap glow in the dark, appearing as a luminous signature. A perfect combination of lightness and resistance, this new technical masterpiece demands a decidedly high level of watchmaking savoir-faire. Certified with the Poinçon de Genève, the Excalibur Twofold is produced in a limited edition of only 8 pieces, guaranteeing its extreme exclusivity. Once again, therefore, the brand asserts its technical independence and radical aesthetic choices. To the delight of its aficionados, Roger Dubuis timepieces are once again asserting themselves as the most compelling means of experiencing Hyper Horology.
