The Damiani Group has implemented a series of initiatives to provide aid in the battle against Covid-19. Starting with an initial donation of over 100.000 euro, to be followed by others, destined for the SS Antonio and Margherita hospital in Tortona, indicated by the Piedmont Region as the first Piedmontese Covid Hospital, the SS Antonio, Biagio and Cesare Arrigo hospital in Alessandria, the Santo Spirito hospital in Casale Monferrato, the Sacco hospital in Milan the Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo, the hospital in Padua, the Spallanzani in Rome, the Santa Maria di Loreto in Naples, the Policlinico in Bari and the Cannizzaro in Catania, as well as donating a portion to the Humanitas University in Rozzano to support scientific research in the Convid19 area. In addition to these donations, it has activated its international network with the aim of recovering masks and other personal protective equipment to donate to Italian hospitals to enable doctors, health workers and nurses to continue working safely. In terms of solidarity actions, moreover, Damiani is launching a programme that involves customers of the Group's brands in order to act as a collector of a fund-raising campaign in favour of organisations active in the fight against Covid-19. By purchasing a Damiani or Salvini jewel, a Venini object, either in the specific brand platforms or through the e-commerce Rocca, but also by investing in a Calderoni diamond, the company will activate further donations in addition to giving buyers a discount, which can also be donated to the institution chosen by the end customer to support, for example, the hospital in their area. The Group has also decided to pay homage with a Bliss jewel to all the doctors and nurses working tirelessly in the Tortona hospital, which, as requested by the Piedmont Region, has been transformed into Covid Hospital, to thank them symbolically for the great work they are doing and with the intention of giving them a smile. Damiani has also made the 12,000 square metres of the Palafiere in Valenza available to the Civil Defence, through the Prefecture of Alessandria: the building was recently purchased by the Damiani family to be converted into a production site, so that the goldsmiths' manufacture of the Group's brands can be maintained in the area where the company was founded as a craft workshop in 1924. With this action, the spaces can eventually be used as a field hospital, shelter for the homeless, materials storage or for whatever the authorities deem useful. And again, with an eye on their employees, the Damiani family has set up an insurance policy to provide concrete help in the event of hospitalisation for Covid-19 or the need for home care for their employees.
