The 84 watches preselected by the GPHG 2019 jury will be the stars of a world tour that will take them to meet collectors, end customers and connoisseurs of fine watchmaking. The scheduled exhibitions will offer an international audience unique opportunities to discover the recent technical and artistic achievements of an industry that combines tradition and innovation. The first stop will be in Sydney, where from 27 to 29 September The Hour Glass boutique in King Street will open its doors to visitors. It will then be the turn of PMT The Hour Glass in Bangkok, from 3 to 5 October. Exclusive events will be held in parallel with the opening of the exhibition to the public. From 15 to 17 October, the watches will be the guests of honour at SIAR - Salón Internacional Alta Relojería, in Mexico City. Still in Mexico, they will then be presented in Puebla for a public exhibition at the Museo Internacional del Barroco from 18 to 20 October, followed by a presentation in Torres Joyas on 22 and 23 October. Back in Geneva, the 84 watches will take up 'residence' from 1 to 14 November in the rooms of the city's largest museum, the Musée d'art et d'histoire (MAH), where for the past three years the GPHG has organised an annual multifaceted exhibition dedicated to the art and culture of watchmaking. On this occasion, the public will also be able to admire some 40 MAH treasures, exceptionally chosen from the museum's collections of timepieces, enamels, jewellery and miniatures. After the award ceremony for the winners scheduled for 7 November, the 2019 tour will conclude in Dubai, where the winning watches will be presented from 20 to 24 November at the 4th Dubai Watch Week, which has hosted the GPHG since its first edition. The official pre-selection for 2019 is published at ongphg.org.
