Since 2010, the dial image of the Lange 1 Daymatic has mirrored the Lange 1, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. As part of the "25th Anniversary" collection consisting of ten models, this model is also presented in white gold with blue finishing and a retrograde day-of-week display in a limited edition of only 25. The substantial difference from the hand-wound original in one essential aspect: the off-centred dial is mirrored. The hours and minutes have been moved to the right, the small seconds and big date to the left. The Lange 1's power reserve display next to the crown has been replaced in the Lange 1 Daymatic by a retrograde display of the days of the week and placed on the opposite side. This arrangement is based on the idea that in an automatic watch, the day of the week information is more useful than the power reserve display. Furthermore, the day of the week display, together with the big date, completes the information on the dial. Special features of the Lange 1 Daymatic "25th Anniversary" include the white gold case with a diameter of 39.5 millimetres and the silver-plated dial with burnished steel hands. The indications, including the Lange Big Date numerals, pick up the blue hue of the hands. The two-tone design is echoed in the blue, hand-sewn alligator leather strap with its solid white gold pin buckle. The IWC-manufactured L021.1 calibre is equipped with a 50-hour power reserve. A large central rotor with a platinum oscillating weight ensures efficient winding. The racketless oscillating system works with a Lange balance spring and is adjusted with six eccentrics on the balance ring. The Lange 1 Daymatic '25th Anniversary' balance bridge is hand-engraved with the inscription '25th Anniversary' and has a special feature: in the blue floral motif, the Lange Big Date is engraved with the number 25 of the anniversary.
