Vacheron Constantin reinterprets the iconic Historiques American 1921 with a smaller case: 36.5 mm. This model is characterised by its pink gold coussin case, its unique diagonal reading and its off-centre crown positioned between 1 and 2 o'clock.
Reading the time while driving or during a presentation, without having to turn the wrist: this was the very practical purpose for which, in the 1920s, Vacheron Constantin created this original diagonal-reading timepiece, intended for an American customer who was a car enthusiast. The original dial was obtained by turning the movement anti-clockwise by 45°, a trick which naturally moves the crown between 1 and 2 o'clock and the small seconds dial between 4 and 5 o'clock.
This new edition, faithful to the original, adopts the hand-wound Vacheron Constantin 4400 AS calibre.
