Visit to the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture in Le Sentier, on 3 and 4 October, for some lucky members of L'Orologio Club. A Maison with a history rich in tradition and culture, which has continued uninterruptedly from 1833 to the present day. In its ateliers, with a staff of around 1,200 people and 21,000 square metres of floor space, the design and construction of more than 1,242 different calibres and the production of numerous world premieres take place. Its heritage is reflected in the Heritage Gallery, an exhibition of the company's history and achievements, which also includes a rich archive of documents, movements, drawings and components. Here you can admire pieces such as the Milionometer of 1884, the first tool capable of measuring the micron, or the legendary Calibre 101 of 1929, still holding the record for the smallest mechanical movement ever made. Not to be missed during a visit to the manufacture are the Reverso, which has always represented the immediate identification of Jaeger-LeCoultre throughout the world, or multi-complicated watches such as the Gyrotourbillon or the Duomètre, through to the exceptional Hybris Mechanica. Also in the manufacture, one can admire the Atmos, the extraordinary table clock that is completely unrelated to any kind of power supply or energy source, whether electrical or mechanical, since it links its operation to air: it is a hermetically sealed capsule filled with a special gaseous mixture, which expands or contracts depending on whether the external temperature rises or falls.
