The 100th edition of Baselworld, the most important event dedicated to the world of watches and jewellery, closed yesterday. Over 4,400 journalists attended, including professionals from print, television, radio and digital media, from 70 countries. There was a decrease in the number of exhibitors, from 1,500 in 2016 to 1,300 today, and also a decrease in the number of buyers, which is 106,000 (-4% compared to 2016). The change that will be introduced next year is the reduction in the duration of the fair: Baselworld 2018 will in fact be held from Tuesday 22 March to Thursday 27 March 2018, with the traditional press day on Wednesday 21 March': two fewer days than in 2017.
