In March, Mido launched the Watch Design Contest. Three designers were invited by the brand to compete in the design and development of a limited edition Mido watch inspired by a world-famous architectural icon: London's Big Ben. At the end of April, the following were published on the dedicated website http://contest.mido.ch the names of the three shortlisted candidates: architect and designer Eric Giroud; Lorenzo Vallone, founder and creative director of Ultravision Design; and Sébastien Perret from Switzerland. The competition jury composed of Esa Mohamed, President of the International Union of Architects, Franz Linder President of Mido, and the public, proclaimed the winner of the contest in Shanghai: Sébastien Perret, founder of the Etude de Style design studio.The watch will be presented at the Basel Show 2016 and will be marketed in a limited edition of 500 pieces.
