Montblanc - Heritage Cronométrie Dual Time Vasco da Gama

Dedicated once again to Vasco da Gama is one of the main novelties that Montblanc is presenting at the Watches&Wonders show in Hong Kong, the Asian showcase dedicated to the most prestigious timepieces, now in its third year. The Heritage Cronométrie Dual Time Vasco da Gama allows the wearer to simultaneously display local time along with home time indicated in the counter at 12 o'clock, decorated with a nocturnal representation of the sky in the southern hemisphere: the same one that appeared to sailors in 1497, the year when the Portuguese explorer's voyage to India began, leaving from Lisbon. At 6 o'clock is the small seconds counter, with a three-dimensional map of the globe in the centre. The caseback bears a drawing of the flagship in which Vasco da Gama sailed from Lisbon, the São Gabriel, alongside his signature. With its steel case, red gold-finished bezel and MB 29.19 automatic movement, the new Dual Time is a limited edition of 238 pieces, as many as the number of metres above sea level of the Cape Point lighthouse that the explorer circumnavigated.
