For the first time, Panerai's Radiomir 1940 case has a highly technical and aesthetically striking appearance, thanks to the use of matt black ceramic, synthesised from zirconium oxide. Compared to steel - the material used in Panerai's vintage models - ceramic offers higher performance in terms of hardness, lightness and resistance to scratches, corrosion and high temperatures. The black dial with its sandwich structure features dot and line indices with ecru-coloured SuperLuminova. The burnished sapphire crystal on the titanium back allows one to admire the hand-wound P.3000 movement with two barrels ensuring three days of power reserve.
