It reproduces a sound that has never before existed in a wristwatch, the Master Grande Tradition à Répétitions Minutes by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The gong is attached directly to the sapphire crystal of the watch: in this way, the glass's properties of rapidly amplifying the intensity and purity of the acoustic vibrations emitted are maximised. The gong has a square cross-section instead of a traditional round cross-section, and a larger surface that comes into contact with the hammer, which can thus strike with greater force. The power reserve is 15 days.
