IWC redesigns the Ingenieur collection as part of its new partnership with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team, for which it will act as Official Engineering Partner for the next three years. The Ingenieur Chronograph Racer bears an engraving of a Formula One car on its caseback. Equipped with a tachymeter scale on the bezel, it is also fitted with a flyback function, which enables a measurement in progress to be interrupted and a new one to be started immediately by pressing and then releasing the appropriate button. The red '60' on the bezel is inspired by the digital luminous display on the steering wheel of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 car, which during the race indicates, among other things, the gear engaged, oil temperature and lap time.
