Equipped with the best technical solutions in the history of watchmaking, the Chronomètre Optimum symbolises the very essence of precision for a wristwatch. Here are its main features. The adoption of the double barrel with two winding springs, which ensures the stability of the driving force of the pink gold movement, characteristic of the brand; the remontoir d'égalité d'une seconde (patent EP1528443.A1), which balances the driving force reaching the escapement so that it is constant. It also adds an independent system to the traditional mechanics, which, in very short periods, recharges the escapement via the mainspring to ensure isochronism to the balance. This remontoir, built for the first time in titanium, maintains its balance in the different positions to maintain efficiency. Equally patented, the Bi-axial Echappement à Haute Performance EBHP (patent EP11405210.3) with double wheel and direct impulses, operates without lubrication. The EBHP is the only escapement with direct impulses that starts itself. In addition to the special feature of operation without lubricants, its efficiency is far superior to most escapements, confirmed by an operation of 50 hours without any change in amplitude. The balance is equipped with a balance spring with a 'Phillips' curve, a system that guarantees maximum balance. The graphical display of the hours, minutes and small seconds and the 70-hour power reserve is in perfect balance with the flywheel of the remontoir visible on the dial side. The caseback reveals, through a sapphire crystal, an 18-carat pink gold movement, enhanced by the astonishing "dead seconds" system, delimited by a dial screwed onto the bridges.
